This Is Perhaps the Most Positive Sign

of the condition of our society.

From BLACKFIVE: Anti-Military Lawyer In Court

I received more email - full of emotion and commitment - from Viet Nam vets that essentially said in various ways:

“We will not let what happened to us, happen to you, Marine.

The story has a positive ending (guilty plea, probation and donation in lieu of $600 restitution), but it’s still one of those that makes you grind your teeth.

The legal profession needs to go after these kind of people. They don’t do themselves any good letting this kind of slime keep a license.

A truck driver wouldn’t have a DWI while in a passenger car ignored by the state licensing authorities. Why should this criminal?

A One Issue Election

It appears that John McCain is praying and working for a single issue election - the war against the Islamo-fascists. He believes he’s on the right side of that issue to gain conservative supporters, while being on the correct side for all the other issues to garner liberal or center votes.

He certainly isn’ on the correct side of immigration to win conservative votes, no matter what he’s said.

From Gateway Pundit: McCain Says He Has Not Changed His Position On Immigration (actually the quote is from Victor Davis Hanson via Instapundit)

McCain is starting to show a certain attraction to many bedrock conservatives that must be based on his war record and service, and this trumps their worries about his less than conservative fides or at least allows them to accept McCain’s won’t-make-that-mistake-again changed views on closing the border, tax cuts, etc. Privately many conservative voters have looked at the polls and know McCain does best against the Democrats.

There doesn’t seem to be a dime’s worth of distance between McCain’s immigration position and the Dems’.
