Jack Army Knows We’re At War

January 4, 2007

This post by Jack Army, I Am At War, reflects some of the internal changes that people who understand that it wasn’t four isolated instances in 2001 that we’re responding to.
His post is interesting in contrast to those who think we shouldn’t have to go “over there.”
If we don’t, sooner or later, we won’t. Those ba$tard$ will come back here again.

The Core Problem in Fighting Islamo-fascists

Jeffrey Imm at Counterterrorism Blog posts about
the need for a strategic Vision for the West in the war against the Islamo-fascists.

While it is acknowledged that no terrorist attacks have taken place on
the American homeland since 9/11, Jihadists have been and continue to
use communications tactics, demographic tactics, political tactics, and
economic tactics quite effectively against the USA and the rest of the
world. We are hampered by the language which makes “counterterrorism”
and “counterintelligence” sound unnecessarily robust, when we are
really only addressing measures against a single tactic of war in
both cases. We would not fight a military war with only anti-tank or
anti-aircraft measures. Moreover, we would not fight any war solely on
a military front.
(emphasis mine) But in this war, the American government has thus far
only prioritized military and counterterrorism activities.
Mr. Imm points to the core problem with America and the West in general. Few in the US and almost no one in the rest of the western world (i.e., not on the Islamo-fascists’ side) see this as a true war.
I posted about this in regard to the propaganda front and in the attitudes of young adults who don’t feel any need to take part in the struggle. They just don’t see it as anything that threatens them or their lives. It’s “over there,” it’s a policing action like all the rest we’ve been involved in, it’s not our fight.

Michael Ledeen Talks about War

Not about the one that’s been going on, so much, as about the one may have to come. In his post, The Time May Have Come,

There is no escape from the war Iran is waging against us, the war that started in 1979 and is intensifying with every passing hour. We will shortly learn more about the documents we found accompanying the high-level Iranian terrorist leader we briefly arrested in Hakim’s compound in Baghdad some days ago, and what we will learn–what many key American officials have already learned–is stunning. At least to those who thought that Iran was “meddling” in Iraq, but refused to believe that it was total war, on a vast scale.

Why would Iran support these two groups who are at war with each other? Because they will both further Iran’s main goal - killing Americans and weakening us further.

The time may have come indeed. Will Americans support the leadership in doing what will need to be done?
