Dr. Sanity quotes extensively from an American Thinker article by James Dunn in her Post Sage - Dr. Sanity - The Left’s Empty Dogma. She has much to say about both his topic - The Seeds of intellectual Destruction, and what clear thinking people need to do:

She also points out the key feature in my mind - commitment and persistence. I think the electoral ‘victory’ was more a loss of patience with the lackluster, compromising Republican leadership that never fought back against the attacks by the Democrats. The Iraq Surrender Group came up with a domestic political tool for reconciling the political parties’ differences not a plan for victory in the war against Islamo-fascist terrorists.
I’ve also heard this commission called the Baker Hamilton Chamberlain commission. That’s a fitting name for these defeatists.
