Peggy Noonan Writes about the Emotional Left

October 14, 2006

While it isn’t the core of the article in OpinionJournal, Peggy Noonan notes in her discussion of examples of the Left’s unwillingness to discuss or debate differing views that,

It is not only about rage and resentment, and how some have come to see them as virtues, as an emblem of rightness. I feel so much, therefore my views are correct and must prevail.

This is the core of the liberals’ view on most things - I feel, therefore I’m right. You are obviously an unfeeling conservative - you don’t care about the outcast, the downtrodden, the poor and the unusual.

I’ve often wondered about how, at work where they want to include all the views (diversity), they don’t talk about the redneck’s view or the old white guy’s view.
