Barbara Streisand in Her Own Words - Disturbing

October 12, 2006

In Brit Hume’s FOXNews.com column about  Ted Turner, Brit also talks about Barbara Streisand’s latest touring show. She apparently wants to mix her political message in with the singing. She had an actor portray President Bush in order to mock him. Apparently, she doesn’t countenance objections by her audience:

"One report said the actor portrayed the president as a "bumbling idiot." Some in the crowd objected to the scene by jeering — and Streisand told one heckler to "shut the ‘f’ up" — and she didn’t say "f." Streisand later apologized and then lectured the crowd on tolerance. She said of the Bush impersonator —"the artist’s role is to disturb.""

Ms. Streisand is truly an artist by that yardstick!

Ted Turner - Maybe Against Terrorists, Maybe Not

A report by Brit Hume of FOXNews.com entitled,  Ted Turner Not Sure About War on Terror - Brit Hume | Special Report, was quoted as saying,

"Our president said it very clearly. He said ‘either you’re with us, or you’re against us.’ And I had a problem with that because I really hadn’t made my mind up yet."

Well, it’s a pretty stark question because it’s a pretty straightforward issue. If you aren’t actively against the Islamo-fascist terrorists and especially their tactics, you’re effectively assisting them in your own destruction.

Perhaps Mr. Turner thinks he’ll be spared any unpleasant consequences if they attack the US again. Or, perhaps he thinks they’ll accomodate him, just as Saddam accomodated Eason Jordan and the CNN Baghdad bureau. That’s what’s known as being an accomplice after the fact.
