More Thoughts on Suppression of Free Speech by Democrats

September 10, 2006

Patterico’s Pontifications posts a response to a reader claiming he (Patterico) is only in favor of free speech when it benefits Republicans. This is soundly refuted by Patterico’s own post history, which he quotes in the blog entry.

One line in particular stood out to me while reading this blog entry:

"Where was the Bush threat to CBS’s broadcast license after Rathergate? I see a pattern on the part of Democrats to threaten people with government action when they don’t like the content of their speech. I believe that this is because rabid Democrats tend to be more self-righteous about their beliefs, and the allegedly evil and heartless character of those who disagree with them — and can therefore rationalize thuggish tactics as being for the greater good."

Those words are spot on, I think, in clarifying the position of all the whiners (see picture below as copied from Dr. Sanity’s site) in the Democrat party complaining about this movie.

Some of those words suggest to me that the loon wing of the Democrats has gone all the way ’round the political spectrum to totalitarianism. Maybe that’s why they don’t mind those dictators, like Saddam.

Disgusting!

Methinks She Doth Protest Too Much

The blog, Sweetness and Light, has looked at the criticism that has been thrown at "the Path to 9/11" and sees that some of the criticism is false and inaccurate. It seems to me that those Clinton defenders who want their own and their leader’s reputations unsullied will go to any length to keep it that way - even to the point of suppressing all criticism of their roles.
